Custom Drapes Velvet
Velvet is one of the most beautiful and luxurious fabrics known to man. The very look and feel of it is nothing short of magnificent. When you are considering drapes, velvet is a nice choice and you can often find some great velvet drapes at a reasonable price. Velvet drapes have a very classy look and are very heavy. This helps insulate your windows by keeping heat from escaping through the glass and molding.
Velvet drapes are amazing to use in a bedroom or study as they add a touch of intelligence and romance in any room they adorn. They can turn any normal bedroom into a refuge of romance and intrigue. Velvet drapes also are very good at keeping light out so they are perfect for keeping your private rooms dark and free from the prying eyes of neighbors and passers by. If you plan on using these drapes in the kitchen, think twice about it. Velvet can be expensive to clean, is not very flame resistant is just a bad choice for a kitchen. It would be terrible to hang up $75 velvet curtains only to have someone come along and try to make margaritas and forget to put the lid on your blender. Disastrous.
Velvet drapes are difficult to find in every store and you may have to order them from a custom shop. These shops are usually very reasonable in price and can offer you many kinds of options. You can decide what the top of the drapes will be like, whether they are lined or not, and choose any dimensions you like. They are “custom” after all, so anything goes.
You will need to learn how to care for your velvet drapes as soon as you get them so you will be ready for any situation. Typically velvet doesn't require a lot of attention but should be cleaned as needed. If it gets terribly old, the fuzzy side may look a little bit like a persons head after chemotherapy so it's best just to replace it completely than try to have it fixed or touched up.
